I am originally from New Zealand where my parents were art teachers. Coming to the US in my early twenties was the first major transition of my adult life.  From this time I spent more than twenty- five years as a screenwriter in the film industry. Many of the projects I worked on involved research, interviews, and the deep sharing of personal lives.  I loved the work but my journey also took me to depth psychology and memoir writing, where I found the creative path to be transformative in deep and healing ways.

Studying mythology gave me a new perspective both personally and culturally. I now lead memoir writing groups exploring personal mythology, and have my therapeutic practice. I am a Jungian Analyst Candidate at the C.G. Jung Study Center of Southern California.

PSYCHOTHERAPY:

Currently I am in private practice in Ojai and Ventura.  Contact me by phone at 805 338 4875.

FEES:  $125 per 50 minute session. Please don't hesitate to contact me to discuss sliding scale fees.

INSURANCE: Most of my clients pay out of pocket for psychotherapy services, as I do not currently accept insurance.  There are a number of PPO plans that allow clients to choose an out of network provider, and in such cases, I am happy to provide the necessary paperwork so that my clients can be reimbursed for my services whenever possible.

CANCELLATION  POLICY: If you do not show up for your scheduled appointment, and you have not notified me at least 24 hours in advance, you will be required to pay the full cost of the treatment as booked.

MENTORING THE WRITER:

My focus is in helping a writer deepen into their understanding of theme, image, and character. Bringing an archetypal and mythic understanding to the work often allows the narrative to take root in a core structure...while opening out into its unique story.

I have great respect for working with others in finding the narratives behind their stories, whether this be analytic work, the thematic underpinnings of a screenplay, dissertation, thesis, or the inward journey of writing memoir.  READ MORE ON WORKSHOP PAGE.
